BIO

Ayanna Seymour is an up and coming Ethiopian- Canadian singer-songwriter raised in BC who recently moved to Toronto to study music. Raised in a Uber-religious household, Seymour has coined the term “post-religious folk-rock” to describe their music which essentially a blend of folk while often sonically having the feel of a contemporary Christina rock band from the 2000s. They also take inspiration from the likes of The Cranberries, Tina Turner and Stevie Nicks, all in all aiming to blend heartfelt lyrics with powerful vocals. On streaming platforms you can find their debut single, “The Martyr” as well as “New Years Song” which was released earlier this year. Currently they are in middle of recording their debut EP which is scheduled to be released early this summer.Thank you to my dear friend Denice Dublin for the term post-religous folk-rockxoxo
