BIO:

Ayanna Seymour is an Ethiopian-Canadian singer-songwriter, best described in the genre of “folk-rock”, more specifically, “post religious folk-rock". Through the genre of “post-religious folk-rock”, she explores themes of religion, queerness and self discovery. Lyrically, she is inspired by the likes Adrianne Lenker, Stevie Nicks and Tracey Chapman. By infusing her work with heartfelt lyrics and powerful vocals, Ayanna makes for an unforgettable live performance that is both intimate and communal.Her debut single, "The Martyr", released in 2023, and her follow-up a demo, "New Year's Song", came out earlier this year. Both are available on streaming platforms. Currently, Ayanna Seymour is in the studio working on her debut EP.
